More than 1,250 Eastern Connecticut State University students received their diplomas in the 2018-19 academic year. Eastern's commencement ceremony occured May 21 at the XL Center in Hartford.

Loyola University Maryland has announced the members of its spring 2019 Dean's List. In order to qualify for the Dean's List at Loyola, a student must achieve a minimum QPA of at least 3.500 for the term, provided that, in the term they have successfully completed courses totaling a minimum of 15 credits.

The Class of 2019 graduated on Sunday, May 26, in a ceremony concluding the College's 207th year. Freeman Hrabowski, president of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, delivered the Commencement address, advising graduates to "keep asking the hard questions and keep thinking of things we've not thought about - about social justice and inequality and seeking the truth." Hamilton's 490 graduates now join an alumni body of more than 23,000, many of whom have made important contributions to business, the professions, government and the arts.

Some 3,275 students were awarded degrees during the University of Vermont's 218th commencement ceremonies. Darren Walker who presides over the Ford Foundation, one of the world's most influential social justice philanthropies and one of the largest private foundations in the United States, delivered the address.

Select students have been named to the Spring 2019 Dean's List at Roger Williams University in Bristol, R.I. Full-time students who complete 12 or more credits per semester and earn a GPA of 3.4 or higher are placed on the Dean's List that semester.

During a discussion about the Loxahatchee River Restoration Project at their April 30 workshop, the Board of Commissioners for Palm Beach County, Florida, referenced a report prepared by Gettysburg College students in the Eisenhower Institute's Environmental Leadership program. Over the course of the year, these 10 students have worked closely with Dr. Howard Ernst, Seiden-Levi Fellow at the Eisenhower Institute, to explore water policy in the United States. After spending the fall semester learning about the policy process and relevant environmental concerns, they traveled to South Florida to conduct field research on restoration plans for the Loxahatchee River.
